One of the benefits of guild membership is being able to be associated with and learn from some extremely talented people. Tall Pines Quilt Guild has some members who have been recognized for their accomplishments outside of our guild. We are very proud of them and would like to showcase them and their work. Our Members ShineMargaret Kessler
Margaret is an artist. She designed Bookcase Before Kindles that won 'Best of Show' at the 2012 Walker County Fair. This quilt was also juried into the 2012 Show at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Margaret has recently moved back to her childhood home in Indiana. We miss her artistic talents!  Susan Craig Susan has won numerous awards for her quilts through the years. She won 'Judges Choice' for Little Fishes at the 2012 Walker County Fair.  A Blue Ribbon was awarded to Susan at the 2012 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for her quilt, Texas My Home.  Grettle Payne Gretlle Payne's specialty is hand quilting. She won Best of Division at the 2011 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for her entry From Darkness to Discovery.  In 2010 Grettle's quilt Classic Blues with a Touch of Jazz won Best of Division at the 2010 Houston Livestock Show.  On My Honor won Best of Division at the 2009 Houston Livestock Show.  Rory Ross Rory is also an artist. Her quilt Wings received an Honorable Mention award at the 2010 International Quilt Festival in Houston. |
