Monthly Charm Square Exchanges

Charm Squares has been cancelled for the time being!!!

It is fun to see the way we are using our 5 inch charm squares in out quilts! What a great way to add lots of colors and textures without having to go shopping.
The theme of this year’s charm square exchange is tone on tone and textured fabrics. These are great for pieced backgrounds, splashes of vibrant color, or specific textures to enhance scenic quilts. Fabrics should “read” solid color or tonal, not prints of something.
Look ahead and be prepared to grab it when you see it. Together, we make beautiful quilts.

FEB - Daytime skies: lights in warm tones, blues, grays, white
MAR - Rich sunsets: lights to mediums in peach, salmon, pink, orange, reds
APR - Midnight skies: darks in blues, purples
MAY - Light neutrals: lights in beige, off whites, near whites, yellowy whites, fleshy tones
JUN - Medium warm neutrals: mediums in tans, sandstone, salmon, red rocks, light browns
JUL - Jewel box: mediums and darks of deep, rich colors
AUG - Blacks: blacks – neutral blacks (no big patterns with other colors, please)
SEPT - Water colors – oceans, lakes, rivers: wavy, undulating watery prints, in greens, blues
OCT - On the ground: mostly mediums sand, brown/black, grass, leaves, sidewalks, pavers
NOV - Building materials: novelty prints showing brick, wood, stone, etc.
DEC - Trees: novelty prints of leaves, bark, branches, trees, tone on tone of browns, greens
